Best fresh caught Grouper I've had in a long time. Caesar salad was a 10!!!! Great craft beer - tried the MothaFuggle! Pork tenderloin was amazing. Spring Rolls were very fresh.

I've been a regular at Lonnie's for a couple years. Lonnie's is a small family run restaurant in the heart of Lake Mary and has become a great stopping point after work for myself and many of my friends. They have always had great food, both lunch and dinner menus and offer a small variety of craft beer on tap. Last night, Lonnie and Chrissy hosted 16 friends for our group's monthly dinner out. They created a very nice outdoor dining experience for us with large canopies. The unpredictable FL rain held off so it was a beautiful evening. Lonnie offered four specials to our group: ribeye, snapper, champagne chicken and lamb shank. I started with the crab cake appetizer which is one of my favorites. I love the mango salsa that accompanies it too. For my entree, I had the lamb shank and it was amazing! So tender and full of flavor, served with a demi glaze worthy of bread dipping. It was served on a bed of mashed potatoes with a medley of broccoli, carrots and edamame. Most of those near me had the snapper and ribeye and raved about their meals being fabulous too. I didn't hear any complaints from those noshing all around me. Lonnie's is a gem for those of us in the area. If you're a fan of fresh fish, he wins fans daily for his fish specials. Lonnie's is rather small. The restaurant has bar seating, several booths and some outdoor seating. I recommend calling ahead for a table on the weekends, especially if you have an interest in sitting outside or are a large party.

I've been once for dinner and once for lunch. Both times the food and service was great. There are only about 4 or five tables inside and stools at the bar. There are a few outside tables. The price is reasonable and the atmosphere is good. If you want a great meal, this is the place to go.

Came in on a whim after seeing the Christmas lights in the adjacent park. It was close to closing, but they sat us and everything. I was keeping my eye on the clock, I hate to be "that guy" who keeps an entire staff wrapped up after hours because he has no clue what time the place closes. However, they seemed to not really care that it was close to closing, they were just interested in feeding us! I had the fish tacos and my wife had the bruschetta, both prepared in front of us. I liked that they did that. Had a few tasty beers and a great meal. We'll definitely be back!

Had two great Catch of the Day fish dinners. Black Grouper and Amber Jack. We are in town from Michigan and love our seafood. Highly recommend. The five star is from my wife but I agree. PS don't forget the carrot cake.

Lonnie's is my favorite restaurant in Lake Mary, hands down. I eat lunch there several times a week. Their Tomato Basil soup is the best I have ever had and when it's available, I order it each time. Every bit of the food is amazingly fresh and very well prepared. Lonnie is kind and talks with his customers and makes them feel at home in his restaurant. The Blackened Jerk Chicken sandwich and the Pot Roast sandwich with Havarti cheese are both phenomenal. Regardless of what you order, you will not be disappointed!

Very happy to found a new and exciting place in Lake Mary. Lonnie's is across the street from the farmers market downtown beside of the Sweet Shoppe. They had a nice looking brunch menu, but I opted for the fish taco special. The fish was well cooked with a nice spice, with a sweet slaw and red pepper to finish the taco. It came with a side of an amazing fresh guacamole. I had a sea breeze mimosa, a little grape fruit and cranberry juice with champagne. The service and prices were very good. The chef/owner came out to every table asking how all the food was. All the tables outside around us were very happy. Great place and we will be back.

I have been here 4 times: twice for dinner and twice for lunch. Everything I have had has been freshly made with interesting flavors. Lonnie takes classic dishes and puts a unique spin on them. The specials are always amazing. Great craft beer selection. Staff is very friendly and responsive. But ultimately, it is the quality of the food that keeps me coming back. Not great for large groups (more than 6) because of the seating. I love to support a high-quality local restaurant. This is a rare treat in Lake Mary.

Ribeye was awesome.....better than most places that specialize in steak. Wife had the chicken dish which she loved. Unique place with the kitchen behind the bar. I will be back!

Ambiance: A few tables outside which is nice, hearing nearby live music is always nice. Interior only has a few booths and bar but booths are high-back leaving each table more intimate Service: Paige was our server. Upon arrival she was super helpful and courteous, as our visit continued she slowed in checking on us (as we sat outside) and my husband was left for a good 10 minues with an empty drink (a huge pet peeve). Seems that she was the only server for both in and out so as it closer to the dinner hour, the less we saw of her. Food: Ordered bruschetta and tempura roll for an appetizer, both were very nicely presented and tasted great, no complaints! For dinner, we had a kids meal (which was plenty of food for the price). We also had the Ribeye (due to Paige's suggestion) and the Eggplant picatta with rice instead of pasta. The Ribeye was very fatty and more on the rare side rather than medium, as my husband requested. The mashed potatoes were the best part of the meal there. The side of roasted tomato was nothing more than a baked whole tomato with bread crumbs on top, nothing special there. As for the Eggplant, it came with 2 sliced pieces that were both breaded, fried with the rice and broccoli mix on the sides. The meal was cooked with butter and wine sauce, but when the plate came out; any empty space on the plate was filled with what seemed to be buttery oil. The bottom of each eggplant was soaked in the greased sauce changing the entire eggplant flavor to an oily fatty taste. Definitely not recommendable for someone that enjoys the taste of eggplant. We ordered a house and Caesar to try both salads, which both were fine, nothing special, but nothing bad. For such a unique menu/concept for their prices, I wish they would've had better service and better food. Our bill was $78.

Creative menu cooked well. Friendly service too. The only downside is the number of seats. Very limited size, but this may also be what allows Lonnie's to keep the food quality so high. (Also, they offer a GIANT beer)

What a huge disappointment! We have eaten here on several occasions and even made a res to go tonight as it's Val weekend. From the start it was all a train wreck. The bottle of wine we ordered was "out". It was $17 so the server brought out another and said this is the one we have, OK? Well, ok, how much? Oh it's not on the list yet but it's $37. Really, a $20 difference? That's it? So she said she'd ask Lonnie if he'd split the cost. Uh, ok. We ordered our meal, the crab cake app was wonderful. Then came the iceberg lettuce with crouton salad. No tomato, one cucumber. That's it. One of us ordered the Jerk Chicken. Menu said "Jerk Chicken".....one's imagination would be a half chicken or quarter. it was a very small, thin chicken breast. The "tail" was like shoe leather. Honestly I could do better on my home grill. It was dry and embarrassing. This entree was $15.99 and included a scoop of rice and stringed mixed veggies which were over stir fried to the point they lost their "color". My entree was the fish special. Barely a palm size of fish filet with a mango sauce. Very bland and the ice cream scoop of rice and veggies. it was so disappointing that we were afraid to risk dessert. Oh, and no bread is served, not even mentioned....that has changed as there used to be good bread here. When we let the server know the meal was subpar and specifically mentioned the chicken, her response was "oh, Lonnie doesn't like to cook that". Really? Why have it on the menu then? We could have gotten a better chicken breast in a jerk spice at Ale House. She said she'd pass on our comments. This is a very small restaurant and after all that we were never approached by Lonnie or offered anything, even a thank you for coming out to eat. I'm still kind of stunned that the $17 bottle of wine was sold out and your next price point was $37. Seriously, go get more wine or deal with it and honor what's on the menu. We love small restaurants and enjoyed this one so much. Sadly we likely won't go back. For $90 we can go to so many in Winter Park or even Dexters in Lake Mary and be sure we get a great memorable meal. You won't make it at this rate. Really saw a huge slide from when you opened......too bad.

Great atmosphere and even better food. Had our Valentine's dinner there. Lonnie not only cooked each meal he would serve them as well.

I got my weekly email from Yelp, featuring Fusion cuisine. Lonnie's is near where I work, and my husband and I go on Wednesday night date nights. This Wednesday, Yelp's email helped me decide to try this place out for the first time. It was GREAT!! The particular Wednesday we went, the adjacent park had a wine and art walk, so it was quite busy and fun in the area. We had jerk chicken and the Asian fish tacos for dinner, which were perfect! Even the garden and Caesar salads that came with the meal were tasty! We are now Railbender Ale fans - they did have craft beers on draft. We sat at the bar and the service was excellent - she was very knowledgeable and friendly. Her mom even makes the desserts! I highly recommend trying this place out if you haven't yet. We will be repeat customers!

Lonnie, the former chef from Delano's made the right move. The guy is genius with seafood for sure. Everything is fresh! The best fish I have had, and I know seafood. The Scottish salmon is out of this world, so is the Caprese tomato app. The place is clean , service prompt. The lunch items came up short for me in filling me up. For the price I left hungry. Although I always get the fish sandwich, so I should know better. The protein source is scarce, at lunch. They also are having issues having their wifi working properly, which I like to use my computer and can't there...as of now. I may even go there for dinner tonight. Lonnie's does post there daily specials on Face book.

Had high hopes because the chef has a great reputation. Nice Caesar salad, excellent presentation. Fish a bit dry, but yummy mango salsa. My husband enjoyed his steak. Very pleasant staff. I really wanted to love it, but can only call it "average".

We went here for the first time today and we loved it! I can't believe it wasn't more crowded (Mother's Day), because the food was so fresh and delicious. I had the special chili soy glazed red snapper with fresh garlic green beans and rice. Best fish I have had in years! My daughter had the eggplant dish that was also fresh and lightly fried to perfection! The men in the group had the steak which covered half their plate. It was covered with gravy and mushrooms. My husband loved it as well as the mashed potatoes and roasted tomato with cheese as his sides. We tried two of the homemade desserts, the creme brûlée, and the coconut key lime pie. So yummy! Please give this restaurant a try. It's family-run and everyone is pleasant and accommodating. The booths could probably fit six people, but four is probably the best party size. It is not a big restaurant but I loved the decor and the location. It's on the road behind lake Mary city hall, and cute shops around it...so you can walk around and window shop when you are as full as we were.

The atmosphere was nice and restaurant clean, BUT everything went down hill from there. The waitress very rude, wine selection dismal and food okay. Will never go back.

Pictures do not reflect that this place has a long lunch counter and only five or six booths with high back benches. The grill/cooking area is right behind the lunch type counter. The service was good and the food service was fast. They do not serve hard liquor cocktails. They have a small selection of wines and beers. I had a Sam Adams, but they had only one bottle and no draft so I could not get a second. They featured McChouffe beer, over priced at $8 a glass only rated 89 by beer advocate. The fried shrimp torpedo appetizer was tasty. I wanted capensis and was offered mahi mahi, instead I had the shrimp island style. Typical of supermarket bottled sauce, but not wonderful tasting jerk sauce on the shrimp with tasteless tomato, cilantro, and onion butter sauce and horrible Caribbean rice pilaf . My wife had the mussel special which was loaded with broken pieces of mussel shell from eastern Canada. Several mussels did not open, an indication of not fresh or dead mussels or just plain improper cooking. Afterwards we had coffee, big mistake. It was either a instant or more likely a k-cup type brew which NEVER produces good coffee, but fast for lazy folk who don't care for the quality of a fine brew or espresso.

Lonnie is a gifted chef and you cannot go wrong here. Great happy hour during the week, fantastic fresh seafood, fine wine and unique beer taps, unbeatable service. Just do it!

I live right down the street from Lonnie's and if I lived in downtown Orlando I'd still drive up to go here. I go about once every 2 weeks, food is always phenomenal and service is even better. With them being a small business they know how to separate themselves and they do it well. Always fresh fish and a solid beer ready to go. Skip paying the Fishbones prices and go to Lonnie's for fish right out of the water. I recommend any fish special with double spinach and a caesar salad!!!

Met our two college sons here for dinner as a midway point between UCF and Mt Dora where we were spending time. What a great choice. Wanted to try the specials but they were sold out, no worries! The sauce in my shrimp dish was divine. My husbands coconut mahi mahi great to the last bite and our sons raved about the pork dish. We had the bruschetta and tuna roll to start. We'll be back. Our waiter was a gem but seemed to be spread thin which is our only complaint.

Deserving of linen napkins, excellent taste and presentation in a compact environment. Reserve a booth if you can, you won't be disappointed. Large group squeeze in for a treat. Simple tools behind the bar more than accommodate the fresh menu selections served in appropriate portions. Well done Lonnie's!

We decided to venture out to Lake Mary to give Lonnie's a try after my father read some great reviews about the place. I was game to try it, with a name like Lonnie's Fusion Cuisine, it sounded like it might offer some inventive and tasty dishes. What a disappointment. The lunch menu is quite limited - standard lunch fare with nothing terribly exciting or "fusion-y". For the record, it takes more than having wasabi mayo added to your meals and the random tuna roll to be fusion cuisine. We started our lunch with the Bread and Compound Butter appetizer, a little something to sate our appetites as we waited on our order. We were surprised when a plate of six melba-toast sized pieces of bread were set in front of us. Aside from being ridiculously tiny, the toasted bread was cold and the compound butter wasn't softened. Paying for cold, hard bread, with butter that you can barely spread on it - which was necessary in order to make it edible - is not a good way to start. One member of our party ordered the popular Blackened Ahi salad. A mediocre bit of Ahi Tuna laid atop a limp salad is also NOT fusion. It's just sad. I ordered the Pot Roast sandwich, and was disappointed to find it served on cheap grocery store white bread. The pot roast itself was fairly bland, it's only saving grace being the horseradish and cheese giving it a bit of flavor. The side salad that came with it was also disappointing and did not look fresh. The least particular member of our party ordered the Angus burger and truffle fries and found himself wishing we'd gone to Five Guys instead. All in all, our food might have been passable had we walked into a roadside greasy spoon and ordered their $5 special, but Lonnie's presents itself as something much better. Sadly, it isn't.

Had the seared ahi tuna salad. Awesome. Highly recommended. Chocolate Covered Pretzel beer was awesome as well.

I plan on trying it again, but I got the Blackened Mahi sandwich and the fish covered less than half of the bun. When I asked the waitress if that was normal, she said: "we serve a 4 ounce piece of fish and it just depends on how it is cut". Sounds like they need to use a smaller bun, then. No one likes a bread sandwich. The taste of the food was good. The sandwich came with a salad that was dressed with tasty balsamic dressing. Again, I am going to give it another try, but I was not happy with the meat-to-bun ratio. The waitress gave me a $1 off off my bill (probably after seeing a plate full of torn up bread).

Had a business lunch at Lonnie's Fusion Cuisine. HUGE disappointment!! Unfortunately it was the worst Reuben sandwich I've ever had. One member in our group's sandwich was so bad he only ate half of it. Price was average, ambiance was neat, but food was No good, which is the point of going to a restaurant.

Went in early today during a monsoon and we were totally wowed by the Shrimp dish and also the Bulgogi pork.dish Chef is unpretentious and pays attention to make sure the diners enjoy their food. Drove by a dozen times before and very glad we stopped by. These reviews convinced us to go. Keep em coming Yelpers!
